Featured Artist: Porous Walker
Meet Blood is the New Black featured artist Porous Walker
While living in a small, old, navy lifeboat in the Sausalito Bay, Porous Walker was visited by the ghost of Shel Silverstein, who encouraged him to change his name and begin drawing. Porous
Walker has shown his work in art galleries around the world, been featured in magazines and television, and is working on a new project almost every day. His hope is to inspire people to
laugh and to create and share their own art work, subsequently flooding the world with humor and pretty colors.
Check out Porous Walker’s designs for BITNB and get 25% off on his tees through July 15th.

Porous Walker solved the riddle. The Zodiac Killer was a big Blood is the New Black fan.
Porous Walker has a show up at Upper Playground right now!
I’m honestly a bigger fan of art than I am an actual artist. I’ve tried to stop drawing, sculpting, arting but I can’t seem to stop. I’m addicted to that feeling of seeing amazing artwork, ideas and feeling the energy and spirit that created them and than allowing myself to let go and just make what I want.
I really try to work hard on my drawings, and I hope to live long enough to get to a point where I make something visually pleasing as well as purely concept driven.
I’m also looking for a job.
I live in Napa. I’m 35 years old. I want you and me both to laugh more than we don’t and above all I want to inspire people to share what’s in their minds.
My website is http://www.theothergoogle.com. My telephone is (707) 225-5173
Please come to my art show on June 4, 2010.
I am making some new artwork for the show, as well as creating a couple redux versions of some of my sculptures I made in the early 2000’s.
I hope to have some free gifts for everyone that stops by the art show opening. I have also invited a few friends of mine to join me to share some of their artworks as well. Among those confirmed as of now:
Kristin Farr, Aaron Hodges, SFAUSTINA, Jason Jaworski, Liam and Noel Gallagher, Jayson Johnson, Bansky and Jeff Meadows.
And probably a few more surprises.
Also, I have invited my good friends, ‘Snugglemachine’ to play some live music and compliment people who come to the show.
All the best,
From The Creative Lives we get a great short on Porous Walker!
“We all love to laugh, and in this new feature on artist Jimmy DiMarcellis (aka Porous Walker), we get to see how humor plays a vital roll in balancing the high aspirations of art. Jimmy’s brilliant drawings and installations remind us that life deserves to be enjoyed, and that there is nothing more moving then sharing a laugh with someone. In this feature The Creative Lives follow Jimmy as he installs his sculptures and drawings at Receiver Gallery in the Mission District of San Francisco, and as he creates his incredible Fog Factory exhibit in Downtown at the prestigious San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery.”
BITNB Artists Porous Walker and Skinner are part of the Bro Palace show opening Friday Feb 26th at Park Life in SF.
Featuring the work of Skinner, Porous Walker, Jay Howell, Deth P Sun and Ferris Plock.
Although their work is mostly rooted in illustration, each artist has a very distinct and instantly recognizable style. From psychedelic mash-ups to ink drawings to sculpture this show promises to tickle the artistic fancy of a wide viewing audience. To further add a touch of mayhem, the SF based band Thee Oh Sees will be playing a special set during the night of the reception. This show is not to be missed, bro.

Hatch Gallery of Oakland is proud to present an exhibition of new drawings and sculpture by Mark Inglis Taylor and Porous Walker. Sharing an ability to summon an endless supply of humor (and drawings) – Porous and Mark have teamed up to produce an installation of epic proportions, composed of nearly a thousand drawings as well as sculpture, video, and performance. Their work travels freely between the banal and irreverent to the insightful and heartfelt, literally surrounding the viewer and encapsulating them in a layer of moments.
There’s already a great review up on Fecal Face!
Porous Walker has artwork on exhibit all over the place. Please please please check it out if you are nearby any of these galleries. His work is not to be missed. Trust.
