The HBO documentary had it’s NYC premiere this week. Produced by Spike Jones in conjunction with (RED) and directed by the legendary Lance Bangs, The Lazarus Effect tackles the HIV/AIDS situation in Africa, focusing on the lucky few who benefit from the meager proliferation of ARV drugs in Africa. “The cost of life-saving ARV medication is now 40 cents per day” says producer Sheila Roche  “that’s an incredible bargain, and we have to maintain investment in order to ensure that millions more people don’t die needlessly from this preventable and treatable disease.”
