This Friday evening, June 22nd, Los Angeles-based artist j.frede has an art opening alongside Amanda Gordon Dunn for their two-person show at Pirate: Contemporary Art in Denver, Colorado.

j.frede, a multi-disciplinary artist, will be presenting “Heirlooms”  — a new sculptural series based on the idea of unlocking and securing memories within familiar objects of our past. “The objects seem still while the knotted masses hold dear or secure the items and act out as the gripping hand of ownership, tightly wound balls of tension and as growths that can be both troubling and foreign,” the artist says of his latest body of work.
